Countryside Outdoor Ventures into Wildlife Tourism :
Adventure holidays and outdoor management development programmes, is foraying into wildlife tourism, following a demand from its regular clientele. The company plans tours to sanctuaries like Kaziranga National Park in Assam, Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttaranchal and Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. The company is planning to approach these National Parks for permits to operate jeep safaris. It is hopeful of starting the wildlife packages from January 2009.
Countryside caters mainly to overseas clients and for these wildlife packages, it is targeting tourists from USA and UK, as well as specific domestic clientele. "Having received requests from around 60 regular customers for wildlife packages, we decided to launch wildlife tours," says Amit Jain, Marketing and Promotions Head, Countryside Outdoor Programme.
The company offers adventure packages to Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Sikkim, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. Countryside has appointed two GSAs in US and four each in Dubai and Nepal. The comapny is planning to expand its GSA network to 13 in the US in the near future. Countryside's existing package includes Free Spirits Tour and Kidventure, apart from regular adventure and corporate training programmes. This year the company has designed 84 new tour packages.
